How to apply for the Vietnam Visa on Arrival?

Please note that in order to get the Visa on Arrival, applicants must have the visa approval letter from the Immigration Department of Vietnam, which will allow you to pick up your visa on arrival. The Visa on Arrival is only valid for those who travel to Vietnam by air.

Steps to apply for the Visa on Arrival

Step 1: Fill out the online form

In order to get the visa on arrival, you must fill out an online form where you provide your personal information such as full name, date of birth, passport number, nationality, entry and exit date for Vietnam, etc.

Step 2: Review your application thoroughly and continue to payment

Please make sure that you double check your application in order to ensure that all information is correct. Any change after the payment will be charged.

Step 3: Receive your visa approval letter via email

After about 2 business days, you will:

  • Receive the visa approval letter via email (attached with entry and exit form)
  • Please print out a hard copy of the visa approval letter and the Vietnamese visa application form (form NA1).
  • Make sure to fill, sign and attach your current photo on the Vietnamese visa application form (form NA1) in advance in order to save time.
  • Please prepare cash in USD or VND so you can pay for the stamping fee when you pick up your visa ($25 for 1 month or 3 months single entry visa; $50 for 1 month or 3 months multiple entries, $95 for 6 months multiple entries and $135 for 1 year multiple entries visa).

Bring all necessary documents to the immigration officer at the visa issuing office in the airport in order to get your visa.

Step 4: Get your visa stamped upon arrival

Once you arrive in one of the international airports in Vietnam, you will see a sign saying “Vietnam Landing Visa Office” or “Visa for Arrival” in front of the passport control. Go there and show your passport + your visa approval letter + the filled and signed entry exit form (form NA1). Wait to be called to pay for the visa stamping fee. After the payment, you will get your passport back with the visa stamped.

  3. Da Nang International Airport in Da Nang city
  4. Cam Ranh International Airport in Nha Trang city

  6. Lien Khuong International Airport in Da Lat city
  7. Phu Quoc International Airport in Phu Quoc Island
